2010 H In H: Quarteback Throwback

Trickery is good for two reasons:
  • It keeps the defense guessing all game long
  • It also keeps future opponents on their toes, since they'll never know how to prepare.

War Of The Roses: Oregon Battle Plan

We're back in the war room to see how the 'Quack Attack' can exploit a vicious Buckeye defense?

My mentality has always been to test a team's strengths to see if they can consistently perform.

In Ohio State's case we know the Buckeye front four is as dominant as they come, but can they show up for four quarters?

Oregon's spread offense, how to stop it

The Rose Bowl sets up to be a fantastic battle of imposing wills.

Will Oregon's offense impose their fast break tempo on Ohio State, or will it be the Buckeye silver bullet defense that flexes it's muscles to pound the Ducks into submission?

There are tons of questions surrounding Oregon's spread offense, and more importantly their bread and butter: the read option.
    • What are the keys?
    • What are the reads?
    • How do you defend it?
First of all let's review the spread offense.

    Inside The Huddle: Corner Play

Playing cornerback is more than just "guarding" the wideout.  It's about proper alignment, technique, and leaning on your fundamentals.

A great corner knows where he is on the field and knows the situation at all times.  He understands that there's a technique for every movement in football, he should never just "wing it."

    Inside The Huddle: Trench Warfare

To play up front with the big boys you can't just be a one trick pony.  It's versatility that makes D-linemen so lethal.

Keep the O-line guessing as you bring relentless pressure in the QB's face.

    Inside The Huddle: Pocket Presence

A huge part of being a quarterback is deciphering between pressure and a real problem.  Especially with running quarterbacks when they're thinking run first if there's an issue.

If you want to play QB successfully on any level you must learn to trust the players around you.  It's your job to get the ball to the playmakers on your squad, otherwise the other ten guys might as well take a knee.

    Inside The Huddle: Pass Placement

Sometimes we forget just how much goes into a 4 second play because a quarterback with great fundamentals always makes it look so easy.

It's up to the QB to give his receiver a chance to catch the football, which is why pass placement is so critical.
